Reservio is a good appointment system: calendars, reminders and a free plan to get started.

But it keeps a percentage of every online payment: from 1.19% to 3%, plus a fixed fee depending on the plan, as of 21 August 2026.

And its territory is appointments, not classes. Its own profile describes it as software for beauty and wellness.

If your business is classes (pottery, painting, jewellery, craft workshops), you end up fighting with what it doesn't model.

That means capacity per wheel, class passes that expire, monthly course fees, pre-enrolment or pieces waiting to be collected.

Its free plan also stops at 40 bookings every 30 days, and class passes only come with the Standard plan and above.

Aforo is the alternative built for studios: the four ways of booking in one calendar, class passes, memberships and pieces as standard, and 0% commission.

Moving from Reservio is included and we do it with you: it's exactly the migration we've already done.

What do Reservio's reviews say?

Reservio's public reviews are good overall (Capterra 4.6 from 142), with three complaints that keep coming up on Capterra, GetApp and Trustpilot as of 21 August 2026.

The first is paid text messages, which are charged for and don't always arrive.

The second is the plan's booking cap. Once you reach the limit, your customers keep booking, but you can't see the details until you upgrade, according to its own help pages.

The third is group classes, its weak spot, with 3.7 out of 5 on GetApp against its overall 4.6.

Its Trustpilot profile also describes it as software “for beauty and wellness professionals” (our translation): studios aren't its niche, even if it picks some up.

And the complaint most useful to you is another one that comes up again and again: unhappy customers who don't switch “because of the work switching takes” (our translation).

That's exactly why our migration is included and we do it ourselves.

How does moving from Reservio work?

We do it with you, and we've done it before. The first studio to use Aforo in production came from Reservio.

We brought over its class catalogue, its customers and its booking history, and the switchover happened without losing a single record.

That migration is now part of the setup: we do it with you, we leave your timetables and rules configured, and all you do is check that everything is in its place.

No sales pitch

When Reservio is a better choice than Aforo

  • You sell appointments, not places in a group

If you work one at a time (one person, one professional, one hour), Reservio does exactly that and Aforo is far more than you need.

  • You take few bookings and don't take payments online

Under 40 bookings a month and taking payment at the front desk, its free plan is enough and its commission doesn't touch you. Switching wouldn't give you anything.

  • You want an app your students can download

Reservio has its own apps for iPhone and Android, checked on 21 August 2026. Aforo gives you a web portal and has no app.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before switching software, with the date of every fact about Reservio.

  • Does Reservio charge a commission on online payments?

Yes. According to its own pricing page, checked on 21 August 2026, every online payment carries a Reservio commission ranging from 3% on the free plan to 1.19% on the Pro plan, plus a fixed fee per transaction.

That commission is Reservio's own and comes on top of what your payment provider already charges you, so the same payment pays twice.

On €3,000 a month of classes, that 3% is €90 a month that doesn't appear in any price list, because it's taken payment by payment rather than once a month.

With Aforo, payments go through your own Stripe or Redsys account and Aforo adds no commission at all, neither on the cheapest plan nor when your studio grows.

You only pay the monthly fee and whatever your payment provider charges.

  • Can I move from Reservio to Aforo without losing data?

Yes, and it's the migration we know best because we've already done it: the first studio to use Aforo in production came from Reservio.

We brought over its catalogue of classes and courses, its customers with their contact details and its booking history, and the switchover happened without losing anything along the way.

That migration is now part of the setup and is included in the price, at no extra cost.

We do it ourselves from your account's export and leave your timetables and rules configured. All you do is check that everything is in its place before you start selling.

If something in your account can't be exported cleanly, we tell you before you sign up, not when there's no going back. The switchover happens whenever you choose, usually between terms.

  • What are Reservio's reviews like?

As of 21 August 2026, it scores 4.6 from 142 reviews on Capterra and 4.0 from 111 on Trustpilot, with 13% of ratings at one star.

It's a good score, but you should look at what the people who complain are complaining about, because the same patterns keep coming up.

There are complaints about paid text messages that never reach their destination and about the booking cap on the plan, which hides the details until you upgrade.

Managing group classes is its weakest point, with a score of 3.7 out of 5 on GetApp.

That last point fits with what the company says about itself: its official profile describes it as software for beauty and wellness, not for studios.

If you sell places in a group rather than appointments, that's the part that will hurt you most.

  • How much does Reservio cost?

It has a free plan that goes up to 40 bookings every 30 days, and from there it moves up through paid plans.

But the real cost is in the commission. As of 21 August 2026 its online payments carry its own commission, from 3% on the free plan to 1.19% on the Pro plan, plus a fixed fee per transaction.

That commission is paid on top of your payment provider's. The highest percentage is on the free plan, so the plan that costs nothing is the one that takes the most from each payment.

A studio taking €3,000 a month on the free plan would be leaving €90 a month in that commission alone.

That is more than three times the cost of Aforo's entire Taller plan, before paying any subscription at all.

Aforo costs €29, €49 or €69 a month excluding VAT and adds no commission to any booking.

  • Does Reservio have a free plan?

Yes. As of 21 August 2026 its free plan allows up to 40 bookings every 30 days, which for a small studio may seem enough at first.

The detail that changes the maths is in the payments: on that free plan, every online payment pays Reservio a 3% commission plus a fixed fee, on top of what the payment provider already takes.

So it's free as long as you don't take payments online, and as soon as you start, it stops being free without the word changing.

Aforo has no free plan and its plans start at €29 a month, but it charges no commission per booking on any of them.

Which one works out cheaper depends on how much you take, not on which one is called free: below about €970 a month in online payments the free plan comes out better, and above that it stops doing so.
