Commission-free payments

The money from every booking goes into your account, not ours

You take payments with your Stripe account or your bank's card terminal (TPV). Aforo doesn't touch the money and doesn't keep any percentage.

How the money travels

From clicking to book to your account, in four steps

The person booking pays on Stripe's page or on your bank's. Aforo only finds out that they've paid, and with that it confirms the place.

  1. 01

    They choose their place

The place is held while they pay, ten minutes by default. Nobody else can buy it in that time.

  2. 02

    They pay with the provider

On Stripe's page or your bank's card terminal page, never on a form of ours.

  3. 03

    The provider lets Aforo know

The payment is confirmed by the notification the provider sends, even if the person paying closes the tab when they finish.

  4. 04

    It reaches your account

The money goes straight from the person paying to you. If they never complete the payment, the place goes back on sale by itself.

0% commission from Aforo per booking, on all three plans. The only commission is your payment provider's.

Two payment providers, and the money always goes to your account

Both are connected from the Cobros (Payments) screen in the dashboard. You can also take payment at the studio, in cash or by card machine, and record it against the booking.

Stripe

If you don't have an online card terminal (TPV) or you need one now.

  • It's activated in a few minutes on its website, without going through the bank.
  • It takes card payments and, with a Spanish account, bank transfers too.
  • The commission on each payment is Stripe's. Aforo adds nothing.

Redsys

If you already take payments with your bank's online card terminal.

  • It's the card terminal (TPV) of almost every Spanish bank: you connect the one you already have.
  • If you don't have one, your bank applies for it, and that paperwork takes weeks.
  • The commission is whatever you've negotiated with your bank.

How each thing is paid for

Each service has its own way of being paid, and everything is recorded in the same cash book.

No commission from us

Whether you sell five bookings or five thousand, Aforo charges its monthly fee and nothing else. The price of the plan doesn't change with what you sell.

0%

commission from Aforo per booking, on all three plans.

In full, deposit or at the studio

The €90 workshop is paid in full, the celebration leaves a deposit and the neighbour's class is paid at the front desk.

Due in the next few days

A list of what's still outstanding, so you don't chase anyone from memory. And you can take part-payments.

Gift vouchers and coupons

The voucher is sold online and arrives as a link. A €5 coupon takes €5 off the total, with the VAT recalculated. From the Estudio plan up.

VAT and your accountant

Each service with its VAT rate, fixed at the time of sale, and a spreadsheet ready for your accountant.

In short

How a studio takes payments with Aforo, in one paragraph.

With Aforo, payment for a booking goes from the person booking to the studio's account without passing through Aforo.

The studio connects its own Stripe account, which is activated in minutes on Stripe's website, or the Redsys online card terminal (TPV) its bank provides, with whatever commission it has already negotiated.

Aforo charges a fixed monthly fee of €29, €49 or €69 excluding VAT depending on the plan, and 0% per booking on all three.

While someone is paying, their place is held for ten minutes by default; if they abandon the payment, it goes back on sale by itself.

The payment is confirmed by the notification the provider sends from server to server, so the booking isn't lost even if the person paying closes the tab.

Each service is paid in full, with a deposit or at the studio, and everything ends up in an export with its VAT for the accountant.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is Stripe or Redsys better for taking booking payments?

If you already have your bank's online card terminal, Redsys; if you don't and want to take payments this week, Stripe.

The difference is in the sign-up and the commission, not in what the person booking sees.

You sign up to Stripe on its website in a few minutes, and it charges its own commission on each payment.

Redsys is the card terminal (TPV) that almost every Spanish bank gives its merchants, and its commission is whatever you've negotiated with the bank.

If you don't have it yet, applying for it takes weeks of paperwork, because the bank handles it, not us.

Either way the money goes straight into your account and Aforo keeps nothing.

You can start with Stripe and connect Redsys when your bank activates it: the provider you take payments through changes, and your bookings, your customers and your history stay where they were.

  • What happens to the place if someone starts paying and doesn't finish?

The place is kept while they pay and, if they don't finish, it goes back on sale by itself.

When someone chooses a place, Aforo holds it for ten minutes by default, a time each studio can change in its settings.

During that time nobody else can buy it, from the website or from the front desk, so there are never two people paying for the last place at once.

If the payment doesn't arrive, a regular process releases the hold and the place shows as free again, without you having to watch over abandoned baskets.

What confirms the booking is the notification the provider sends to Aforo from server to server, and that notification is retried if it fails.

That's why someone who pays and closes the tab before getting back to your website still has their place.

Trusting the browser to come back is the classic mistake of many programs, and it's always the business that pays for it.
