A waiting list that offers the place
When the class is full, anyone who wants to get in joins the list.
When someone cancels, the place is held for the first person on the list and they get the offer by email.
Bookings and calendar
Drop-in class, full course, regular weekly spot and one-to-one session, all on the same capacity. If there are six wheels, six places go on sale.

Four ways to sell
A studio sells shared places, courses lasting months and the Tuesday spot of someone who has been coming for years.
Aforo runs all four modes at once and none of them eats into another's places.
The Saturday session with its places counted. It's published, booked and paid for without you touching anything.
Eight sessions bought in one go, with a course price and the place kept in all of them.
The usual Tuesday is a real booking: it takes up capacity, appears on the day's list and gets reminders.
Open wheel time, advice or a pick-up, with the slots worked out from the resource each appointment needs.
All four draw on the same resource. Two workshops at the same time share the room without selling twice as many places.
You set the rules once and from then on the calendar follows them by itself.
When the class is full, anyone who wants to get in joins the list.
When someone cancels, the place is held for the first person on the list and they get the offer by email.
You set how many people are needed and Aforo shows you, days ahead, the sessions that aren't getting there.
You decide how much notice people need to book and how many days ahead they can. The calendar doesn't show March in August.
The kiln or the room stays blocked around the session, without that gap showing on the website.
You generate the term in one go and then take out the long weekend without undoing anything.

What Aforo's calendar does, in one paragraph.
Aforo's calendar is built for studios that sell places in groups. A single session can fill up with four types of booking at once.
There's the drop-in class of someone who comes one Saturday and the eight-week full course.
And there's the regular weekly spot of someone who has been in the Tuesday group for years, and the one-to-one session for open wheel time.
All of them draw on the same resource, be it a wheel, a kiln or a room, so it never sells more places than there's room for.
The studio's rules apply on top. Each business sets its minimum notice for booking, how many days ahead people can book and its set-up buffer before and after each session.
It also sets the minimum number of people needed to run it, and the waiting list holds the place for whoever is next.
Aforo (aforoapp.com) is Spanish booking software for creative studios, with 0% commission per booking on its three plans.
Aforo warns you with days to spare and the decision is yours.
For each service you set how many people are needed for the session to go ahead, and the Hoy (Today) screen shows at the top the sessions in the coming days that haven't got there yet, with the places sold for each.
From there you cancel it or let it run. If you cancel, each person is refunded what they paid and gets the notice, without you having to write to anyone one by one.
The alert comes early on purpose: deciding the day before means calling everyone, and deciding four days before leaves room to move people to another date.
Aforo doesn't cancel anything on its own. There are weeks when a class of two is still worth it for you, because they're long-standing students or because the room is already paid for, and you know that better than any calendar.
Anyone who's too late joins the list and, when a place frees up, Aforo offers it to whoever joined first.
The offer really holds the place: while that person decides, the place is taken off sale and nobody can take it from the front desk or the website.
By default it's held for twelve hours, enough to see it after work, and you can change that in the settings.
If they don't answer in time, the offer expires and goes to the next person on the list, always in order of arrival.
The offer arrives by email, which is one of the program's six automatic notifications, so you don't have to decide who to write to first or explain to anyone why it went to someone else.
And the same happens if someone moves their booking to another date: the gap they leave is also offered automatically to whoever is waiting.
Carry on with the other parts of Aforo: commission-free payments, class passes and memberships, piece tracking, priority enrolment and all 58 features.
In the demo we load your classes, your courses and your capacities, and you see how your calendar would look. Twenty minutes.
