Aforo for craft workshops

Change your programme monthly without redoing your website or diary

Publish new dates for candles, jewellery or whatever's on this month. Aforo sells the places, takes the deposit and shows what's still free.

Write to us and we'll reply within one working day. Please note that Aforo works in Spanish: the dashboard, your booking page and the emails your students receive.

The programme

Candles this month; jewellery next

The programme is half the business and it changes every season. In Aforo each workshop lives in your catalogue with its length, its capacity, its price, its add-ons and its rules.

Giving it a new date takes a few seconds, and a workshop with no date doesn't appear on your page.

  • Sat 6

    Scented soy candle

12 places · paid when booking

  • Fri 12

    Silver jewellery

    8 places · 30% deposit

  • Sat 20

    Afternoon pottery

    10 places · 2 left

  • Sun 28

    Private session

    Not on the public page

If a workshop works, you give it another date. If it doesn't, it stops appearing without you having to delete anything or touch your website.

Selling a one-off afternoon has its own traps

There's no enrolment or membership to carry the month: every session is sold from scratch, every time. What decides the outcome is four rules and how long you take to publish.

The 11 pm gift

The voucher is bought online the day before, arrives instantly as a link with its design and says who it's from.

Whoever receives it enters the code when booking and the balance comes off automatically: you don't check anything or keep a separate list.

And whatever is left unspent is still your money until it's used or expires.

Booking means paying

In full or with a deposit, and you decide workshop by workshop. While someone is paying, their place is held.

If they abandon the payment halfway, it goes back on sale by itself without anyone keeping an eye on it.

Your cancellation rules

A refund, credit for another date or nothing.

They're shown before payment, not after, and the system applies them without you having to argue about them with anyone.

Booking window and notice

You decide how many days ahead people can book and how much minimum notice you require.

The calendar doesn't show March in August or accept a booking for an hour from now.

Time to set up and clear away

Between the five o'clock workshop and the eight o'clock one, the room needs cleaning.

That gap is blocked automatically, doesn't appear on your website and can't be sold.

In short

What you'd tell another craft space in a minute, without turning on the computer.

In craft workshops the programme is half the business: candles this month, jewellery next, and a stray Saturday that has to fill up before Thursday.

Aforo keeps each workshop in your catalogue with its length, its capacity, its price, its add-ons and its rules, so giving it a new date takes a few seconds; one with no date doesn't appear on your page.

Booking means paying, in full or with a deposit, through the business's own Stripe or Redsys account and with no commission from Aforo, and a place whose payment isn't completed goes back on sale by itself.

Gift vouchers can be bought online at any time, arrive instantly and are redeemed automatically when booking. Your cancellation rules are shown before payment.

Aforo (aforoapp.com) is the booking system for craft workshop spaces in Spain: €29, €49 or €69 a month, plus VAT and with no commission per booking.

Questions from the trade

  • How long does it take me to put a new workshop on sale?

A few minutes, because whatever repeats is already saved. The workshop lives in your catalogue with its length, its capacity, its price, its add-ons, its questions and its cancellation rules.

Running it again means giving it a date and a time. You don't have to describe it again or decide again whether it takes a deposit.

If it's a workshop you've never run, you create it in full once and from then on it's saved for good.

As soon as it has a date it appears on your public page and in the calendar you have on your website, without publishing anything by hand in two places.

This is exactly what programs built for businesses with a fixed catalogue handle worst.

They assume you always sell the same thing and make you pay for any change with extra work.

  • Do I need a website to sell places?

You don't. Aforo gives you your own public page with your photos, your colour and your programme, at its own web address, and people can book and pay from there.

It's enough to get started and to put the link on your social media, and its address carries your business's name, not a number.

If you already have a website (WordPress or anything else), the calendar goes inside it with a snippet you paste in once, so people booking don't leave your site.

The two routes work side by side. You can keep your usual website to tell people who you are and use the Aforo page to sell, or put everything on yours.

What you won't have to do is keep the same calendar in two different places, which is where places sold twice come from.

  • It's Thursday and I still have three places left for Saturday. What does Aforo do?

It tells you before it's too late and leaves you to act.

In the reports you see which time slots are slow and how many places are still unsold, by type of activity and by day of the week, compared with the previous period.

If the session is full, whoever joins the waiting list gets the offer as soon as a place frees up, with time to accept it, without you having to call anyone.

If it's slow, you know which workshop and which time slot are dragging it down, which is what you need to decide where to put the effort.

Aforo doesn't post on your social media or send campaigns for you: it gives you the figures and the waiting list, and what you do on Thursday afternoon is up to you.

And if you end up cancelling, everyone signed up gets their notice and whatever the rules they accepted say.

If you also get groups, want to compare with what you already use or want to put the calendar on your own website: how celebrations and company groups are set up, Aforo vs SuperSaaS and the calendar inside your WordPress site.

And the features that matter most to you, in detail: commission-free payments and the calendar and its rules.
